ABOUT THE PRESIDENT
President
Mike Tyrell has been working in the Travel Industry since 1997. Mike’s career in travel began in 1997 after he graduated from Vancouver Community College with a Travel Agency degree and an internship at CruiseShipCenters. At the conclusion of his internship Mike was offered a full-time placement as a sales agent. After leading the company in sales in just his second year, Mike was promoted to manager even though he was the youngest employee at just 23 years of age.
Mike also has ship-side experience as well. While attending college Mike worked at the Holland America cruise ship terminal in Vancouver. B.C. gaining experience in all aspects on the embarkation and disembarkation process including baggage handling, check-in process, passport & visa requirements, and customer service/problem resolution.
In 2003, Mike was recruited to join the Brennco team and quickly became the top producing sales agent. In 2006, Mike was promoted to Regional Sales Manager with the added responsibility of recruiting and training new agents.
In 2007, Mike founded www.cruisesandtours.ca in order to bring his expertise, extensive customer service skills and pricing from his US partnership with Brennco to his fellow Canadian travellers.
In 2016, Brennco was selected by MOAA’s Executive Team and MOAA’s Board Of Directors as the Travel Agency in America best suited to fulfill the travel needs of their 400,000 members. Mike was then promoted to Vice President of Brennco with the sole function of training and managing a team of hand-picked agents to handle the MOAA account.
As a graduate from numerous cruise line and tour company educational programs, Mike uses his vast knowledge and experience as a resource for the servicing the exclusivity of all clients.
